

Local students choose careers resources for their schools… Better Choices recently held their annual careers resources exhibition inviting students and teachers from local schools and colleges to attend. Young people are given the opportunity to came along and select which careers resources they want in their schools and colleges, and to find out more about specific career options.
Mary Johnson a teacher at Egerton Park Arts College in Tameside came to the event with a couple young students, to choose which careers multi-media and publications they wished to see in their school. This was the first time either of the students had come to the event and were delighted to have the opportunity to select careers resources they wanted in their school, which they felt would benefit their classmates and other students.
Levi (aged 13) a young student from Egerton Park Arts College, said “There are lots of books here that tell you about different kinds of jobs that relate to subjects at school. All the books we’ve picked are bright, colourful and fun. You want to read them because they look interesting”. Claire (aged 14) also from Egerton Park Arts College , said, “Some of my classmates don’t join in with the class activities. The interactive games and books we’ve chosen today will help me get to know more about my classmates. I think Connexions is a good name because the resources available help us to connect with other students”.
