Young people feel the benefit of a new Connexions Centre in Walkden… Connexions Salford has just launched their new Centre in Walkden. Connexions can now reach more young people in the Salford area, offering them advice and guidance to ensure a smooth transition to adult life.
Young people can now come into the new Connexions Centre in Walkden and speak to Personal Advisers and Employment Assistants who offer careers advice and can help with social issues and helping young people to find education, employment and training opportunities that are right for them.
The new Centre was opened by Councillor John Merry who fully supports the new centre. He said, “It is vital we continue to give support to young people in Salford. The Connexions Service is committed to providing opportunities for young people – encouraging them to achieve their full potential. The city of Salford continues to fully support young people and the work of Connexions”.
The addition of the new centre in Walkden is a real benefit to the young people in the area. Elizabeth (aged 15) attended the event. She said “It’s much easier to get here because I don’t need to get loads of buses. It’s great. It helps that this Centre is near where I live”.
