About 120 colleagues from Better Choices and friends held a fundraising ‘Memorial Quiz’ in memory of Caroline Peate who died of cancer earlier this year. The quiz was held at the Irish Association Social Club, High Lane, Chorlton, on Friday, 26th May 2006. Caroline was a member of the management team at Connexions Manchester.
Peter Jones, quiz organiser, said "It just seemed so appropriate to honour Caroline’s memory in this way. Caroline loved a quiz and was in the winning team at our last Connexions quiz".
Caroline’s favourite restaurants - the Gurkha Grill, Kathmandu and the Metropolitan (North West Regional winner of the Observer Food Awards) all supported the Event with very generous donations reflecting the community spirit so appreciated by Caroline. Grateful thanks also to the Irish Association Social Club.
Birch Audios supported the Event with the supply of audio equipment and music. Chris Poyner, Janet Berry and Tudor Owen helped with the event.
The quiz raised almost £750 which will go to Christie's in Manchester to support their work.
