2005 - 2006 Key Facts and Figures

Connexions Manchester, Salford and Tameside

  • 41,747 Support Interventions carried out with compulsory school age pupils (13-16)
  • 75,870 Support Interventions carried out with 16 - 19 year olds
  • NEET figures were reduced year-on-year (November 2003 - November 2005)
    • Manchester reduced NEET from 15.6% to 10.8%
    • Salford reduced NEET from 12.1% to 9.3%
    • Tameside reduced NEET from 10.3% to 7.8%.
  • Unknown targets were successfully met (November 2003 - November 2005)
    • Manchester reduced unknowns from 17.7% to 3.7%
    • Salford reduced unknowns from 14.6% to 4.1%
    • Tameside reduced unknowns from 12.6% to 2.8%.
  • Over 97% of young people who have used the Connexions centres rated staff as friendly,welcoming and helpful.
  • £1.35 million invested in youth programmes, including voluntary sector provision
  • 2,448 young people placed into opportunities.
